Red Mountain Volcano hike 9/07

Tuesday 9/07. Headed out about 10am with Kim, Cathy/Jim to a location called Red Mountain Volcano. We travel on hwy 180 out of Flagstaff for about 25 mi. The hike is about 1.5 mi one way. A trip into a cinder cone in the Coconino National Forest ending in a amhitheater with erosion pillars called "hoodoos" along the walls. The hike and the scenery is just awesome. This is a Earthcache which means there is no log to sign. In this case one has to anwer 5 questions. The one thing about Earthcaches, it has to be educational. The person that created this one did a great job. Getting very cloudy with some thunder. After getting back to the jeep it started to rain. A couple of stops before heading back to the RV park.
