As a Workcamper, I applied for this job at the Quartzsite RV show in Jan '07.
Since I just started this Blog in Jul'08, I'm going to recap some of the events here.
I was at Kachess Lake (75 mi east of Seattle) Campground from May to Sept '07. I had the smallest camp loop (there were five loops), Gale Creek with 20 sites. My duties included taking care of the camp sites, collecting fees, cleaning restrooms (5 Bldg's) and a picnic area. On the weekends, I helped at the Boat launch area in directing traffic & parking. Fun. Then sometimes in the Admission Booth (entry to campgrounds) which was open from thursday thru sunday.
Each camp loop had its own camphosts (couples) and our Supervisors Larrine/Marvin. Camp loop ?? was Bunny/Jay; loop ?? was Bob/Jeanie and loop ?? (2 big ones) Elain/Mary. we tried once a week (sunday) for a pot luck at the SV Cabin area.
Very busy place during the week and very very busy on the wk ends. Memorial Day, 4th July and labor day was a "zoo". Once in while you did have a camper(s) having to much to drink or party time. Over all it was a great adventure. After labor day all the camphosts left. I was asked to stay on to help the supervisors close the campgrounds. I departed on 9/24.
During my stay there, I had friends come in for a visit. Joe/Robb from Canada; Russ from Greely, CO; Nancy/Lisa from Calif; Don C from Calif and then local friends in the area- Chuck/Jerry and Ken from Seattle. Wonderful times.
