Geocaching-Saturn series#2

Saturday 5/28   Memorial Day
We (kathy/derek, kim, Bob (kathy's dad) & me) made plans to do some geocaching.  Headed back, near Flagstaff,  at  800am to work on the geocache SATURN series.  Our second time.  About a 4 mi round trip hike. But we had to go up and down into canyons.  It was tough.  We only got 9 caches. Have to go back for trip#3 to finish up. Lunch in Flagstaff. Returned to RV park about 4pm.  After a quick shower had to take a hr nap. :)

First stop called the D-ring cache

Polaris trip 5/23

Wednesday 5/23/12
I was given the day off with paid (wow) do to the new  5 day summer schedule. Therefore my co-worker Faith and her husband Paul was able to get out on their utv/Polaris to do some exploring and geocaching in remote areas.  We left the Meteor Crater Rv park around 7:30am and headed south behind the crater known as Chevez Pass (20mi).  First stop was a geocache at a water tank. From here to Long lake (with stops along the way).  Then over to Mormon lake resort for a late lunch. Checking the map we decided to explore another way back.  In total, a 118 mi trip. Eight geocaches. Fun adventure.  Back at 5:30pm.

Egar/Greer geocaching

Sunday 5/20
Left the condo about 830am to connect with Bill/Chuck to some geocaching.   Going to the Egar/Greer area. This is were the big fire was last yrear. Lots of small  hikes and great scenery.  In Greer, a small resort community between two mountains.  The community was spared from the fire but alot of cabins on the hillside are gone.  Lunch there , which was sooooo good.  Three caches that we found there.  Then into other areas. One being the Horseshoe Lake campground. Awesome. Lake on one side, campsites in the middle, the canyon on the otherside (more sites) with a running river.  More stops. Back at Bill/Chuck's place to play cards with other people at 6pm.  Another awesome  day.

Payson-geo event 5/19

Saturday 5/19
Up early for the 2 hr drive to Payson. Attending a geocaching event.  Arrived about 8:30am at Rumsey park. Big park. Fun meeting local Payson geocachers and others.    After a two hr greet/meet and donuts it was time for the raffle.  Won a prize.  Was given instruction sheets for 4 new caches in the area.  One was a 2 mi hike that I did-- like wow.  Late lunch, more caching. Then headed to Show low to stay at my friends condo.  Arrived there about 530pm.  Fun exhausting day. Logged about 10 caches.
