Cottonwood 7/12 tue

7/12 tuesday   Trip to Cottonwood for some geocaching.
Our adventure (kathy/dereck & myself) was traveling on I-17, onto Hwy 260 and 89A thru Sedona before returning to meteor crater.
First stop was for some gas at Kachina (I-17 6mi south of Flagstaff). There's a new park call Raymond park which had a geocache.  Further down the road we found another cache.
Next  stop was for a cache on Schnebly rd (dirt road) about 2 mi off I-17. This road will take you to Sedona (12 mi) which I would like to try in the future.  We parked near Forboro dam then walked to the cache. In the area was a beautiful house with its own pond/lake in the  middle of the forest.
Continue on I-17 with a stop at Vista point with a great view and another cache to find. Then west on hwy260 ( 3 more geocaches)to 89A. Stop for early lunch.  Then onto a dirt road  call Bill Grey road in this Cottonwood area having alot of geocaches.  The jeep did great going thru washes and dirt roads.
Headed to Sedona  with a stop at Dairy Queen  in Oak Creek before returing home at 8pm with 22 geocache finds.   Fun day.
