Snow at Meteor Crater 12/8

12/08 tuesday morning.
Flagstaff got their blizzard, lots of snow. Here at MC we got snow & Ice. Monday nite we had heavy winds (over 40mph). When I stepped out of the RV, I had a small snow drift. Left the RV park early not knowing the condition of the MC road which is covered in snow. Got to the main gate at the center and I realize I was the first employee to arrive. Turns out the lock was frozen. After that I drove accross the parking which is ICE. The employee gate wouldn't open- frozen. Parked and walked up the snow crover stairs. Our manger Toni was happy to see me since I was the only one that may it to the center. I-40 was closed from Kingman to Winslow. Therefore the employee's from Winslow couldn't come to work. Because some of the empl live on site we had enough to open knowing it would be hours before we would see anyone. David & I got the Admit area clean up (shoveling snow and spreading gravel). Our guest to arrived was at 10:30am. They came from the Flagstaff area, informing us the rough conditions there. Well another new experience for me :)
