Headed to the Lake Mary area about 20mi out of Flagstaff. Wanted to do some geocaching in a area noted for camping in the forest called Goose springs. Great hikes. Then back to flagstaff to meet Kim & Eduardo to see the movie "A Team" which was very good. Hamburger at Windy's before heading back to RV park.

Show Low trip 6/14-15
Trip to show low mon/tue 6/14-15
Show Low is located in the White mtn's a two hr drive from Meteor crater. My friend TJ (Les) purchased a summer condo to get out of the heat in Yuma. Arrived at the condo about noon. After getting caught up on our events we took off for a small hike behind the condo on "Joe tanks road". Of course we were looking for a geocache about a mile in. After that some sightseeing. I located the area where Chuck/Bill (from Yuma) have a site at Whie Mtn Resort. They have done alot of work getting the RV pad in and retainer walls. Nice. Down the road I spotted their friends Harriet/Gloria ( met them last year) - since they were outside , stopped for a nice visit. Dinner at the condo and a couple of hours playing cribbage. The next day more geocaching and going to various Thift stores. Lunch at Red Devil in Pine Top. Did manage to get a haircut. Back to the condo for a small nap before hitting the road. Nice visit.

After work (off at 2:300) I left for Flagstaff. Event was being held at Wheeler Park in old part of Flagstaff. Arrived at 3:30 with over hundreds of people enjoying the enterainment. Weather was ok since it was windy and some rain at Meteor Crater. Stayed for few hours before heading back. Had some "eats" and a beer. The Flagstaff community is very supportive on this event.

Munds Park tue 6/8
tue 6/8
Left Rv park about 9am and headed to Munds Park area which is about 15 mi south of Flagstaff off of Hy -17. This area has some great looking houses, A-frames,etc and a large golf course. Lots of hiking trails and geocaches. One of the areas that we encounter was a place called Sheep springs - back in the late 1800's was a sheep ranch. Further in, you can take a forest service dirt road that will lead you to Mormon lake. Or go to Flagstaff and take Lake Mary road to the lake. We plan to come back here again.

Bearizona 6/1 tue
tuesday 6/1 Trip to Williams
With geocaching in mind, we (kim. kathy & derek) decided to head out to the Williams area. Our first stop was to visit Bearizona a wild animal park ( a drive thru). It took about an hour going thru the park seeing Bison,Mtn goats, bears, and more. One is not allowed to get out of the car. At the end of the drive you stop at the visiter center to see the baby bears and the Gift shop. This park just open on 5/22/10 and is still under contruction with more animals coming. Very nice. Web site is http://www.bearizona.com/

Dogtown 6/1 tue
Tuesday 6/1
After our drive-thu the Bearizona wild animal park we headed east into the forest to area called Dogtown lake. As we were traveling on a good red dirt road we saw a herd of Elk. We parked at the campground day use area and started are geocaching adventure by walking around the lake (over 3mi). Had a nice conversation with fishermen catching trout. Then a small hike into the meadows and back to the Jeep. The campgrounds belong to National Forest with 50 sites, very nice. Two sites had the camp hosts. Weather was great We found 8 caches which two of them were "first to find". Back to flagstaff for a early dinner. Fun day.
