Cabrillo Nat'l Monument 1/10

The Nat'l Monument is located in Point Loma. The Pacific ocean on one side and the San Diego harbor on the otherside.
The Visitor center offers alot info on the Light House built around 1854. Monument honors Juan R. Cabrillo the first european to set foot on the west coast of the US.

Fort Rosecran Cemetery 1/10

Located in Point Loma (San Diego). A Nat'l Monument. My Mom is Interred here. The views are awesome overlooking the Harbor to SD. The weather was great with sun & blue sky.
Because there is no more land available, the cemetery has created walls that will hold Urns. Very creative. The older section has head stones that are dated back to early 1800. The area is one that should be on your list of places to see.
Moving onto Cabrillo Light House at the end of the road.

Lunch in SD 1/09

Met up with some friends for lunch. Place called Amarin. Terrific Thai food and catching up on events for all of us.

A few miles from my brother's house I stopped to find this geocache which I tried last year. Was sucessful today. The bridge was built in 1929 and was the main road (hwy 94) to Jamul .

Harbor Dr San Diego 1/08

Went into San Diego and did the drive on Harbor Dr which takes you to the Airport and into Point Loma. Across from airport is Harbor Island with alot of hotels and resturants. A little hazy but a nice day. Did some geocaching. A few caches were very clever, like the frog called Prince Charming :) Was able to see some navy ships and alot of sail boats. Fun day

Balboa Park San Diego 1/07

Went to Balboa Park in San Diego today. Love this place. Even though its still winter the gardens are so neat. Went to the IMAX to see the Wild Oceans. They just remolded this place with a new screen. Wow its so cool. Prior to seeing the show I did 10 geocaches in the park. Couldn't find one. Need to go back as the IMAX is showing Van Gogh and the landscapes he painted. And of course more goecaching. Still alot of caches there.

Root tree has a hiddent cache. The other pic is the famous Wedding area in the park, again another hidden cache.
