Christmas in Yuma

Have 4 days off so I got to spent some time with Andy.  Arrived in Yuma 12/22 and returned to Meteor crater christmas day.  Got Andy back to the house/apt from Scott/Kenny house.  Everyone has been so helpful taking care of Andy after his heart surgery.  God Bless all of you.

Meteor Crater Christmas Party

The annual Meteor Crater Christmas party.  Inoder to save money, the event was held at a sports bar called BoJo in Winslow.  The dinner was good.  Getting together was the spirit of the holidays.

12/2/12  SedonaFilm Festival

Headed to Sedona to see Ballet in cinema at the Mary Fisher Theatre.  Cool building.

 

Story:

A young English Lord traveling through Egypt takes shelter in a pyramid with a group of Egyptian merchants. After a round of opium, he has a fantastic dream in which he is transported to ancient times and enchanted by a powerful Pharaoh's daughter. Originally a hit when first staged in 1862, The Pharaoh's Daughter fell out of favor with the Soviet regime. In 2000, Pierre Lacotte was commissioned to resurrect Petipa's mighty Egyptian fresco, and it became a hit yet again. This production stars Svetlana Zakharova as the Egyptian princess and Ruslan Skvortsov as the English Lord.

11/17 Opera in Phx

Down the hill to Phoenix to see the evening performance of "Romeo & Juliette" at the Convention center.   Great performance.  Of course it has a sad ending.  Then to the hotel.  Nice early breakfast. A stop at the casino before returning to Meteor crater. Yes did win  some $$.

 

 

 

11/3Show Low condo ck/caching

11/3  saturday

Headed to Show Low to check on TJ's condo.  Turns out the thermostat wasn't working do to dead batteries.  Easy fix.  After that, out to do some geocaching near by called Torreon Resort.  Some snow on the ground but that didn't keep me from searching. Found 5 caches.  Later in the afternoon headed  back to Meteor Crater rv park to play cards.

After breakfast, took the guys up to Meteor Crater for some shopping. The two Don's were staying in order to visit and take the Guided Rim tour.  The rest of us went to Flagstaff doing the Route 66 geocaches that I had found already.  A stop at WalMart for some items for the Halloween party. Back here for dinner.  Then we got ready to attend the party at MC (Kim's apartment).

Show Low/Geo/Canyons 10/14

Headed to show low sat morning.  Arrived at Bill/Chuck place for their community yard sale. Picked up neat things.  Then to a early movie, ARFO, very good.  Connected with Bill/chuck for dinner.
10/14/12 sunday
Headed north on hwy77  with a few geocaching stops.  Then drove  off Hwy77 on a dirt road. Got to bumpy. so we parked and hiked to the canyon. Just awesome. Two canyons coming into one. Got our geocache.  Back to the Jeep and continue onto a little community called Woodruff. More geocaching and made the loop to Snowflake and then back to show low. Early dinner.
