Decided to take a trip to Sedona. Suppose to be warmer there today--- it was. The ride down 89A to Sedona was so beautiful- trees changing colors. Of course did some geocaching getting there and in Sedona. Spent several hours just looking in the shops. Nice lunch. Left about 3:30 inorder to get back for a Halloween party at the RV park.

Verde canyon train 10/23

Thur & Fri trip 10/22-23
Left Meteor Crater early afternoon. Doing some geocaching along I-7. Stopped at the Cliff casino for a few hours before getting to the hotel in Cottonwood. The next morning off to Denny's for breakfast. Did some geocaching prior to arrriving at the Train depot.
Picked up my tickets- seating will be in the Sycamore car (1st class). Lots of info in the John Bell Museum, a renovated boxcar housing Railroad history.
The trip follows the Verde river and passes towering pinnacles, ancient Indian ruins, over fortified trestles, past a monocline fault and through a 680' tunnel on a four hour rail journey from the old mining town of Clarkdale to the Perkinsville ghost ranch and back.
The 1st class was cool, accommodating fewer pasengers in a spacious living room style seating. Champagne was served upon boarding, full service bar and complimentary appetizers (nice spread). Train departed at 1 sharp and returned at 5pm. Awesome train ride with great views.
---- My Web Album has alot of cool pictures on this subject ----

Grand Canyon trip 10/16

Friday 10/16 at the Grand canyon...........
Stayed at the Red Feather Inn in Tusayan about 5 mi from the GC entrance. Got up early and
had a nice breakfast at the Cafe inn. After eating off I go to find a cache up the hill behind the hotel. Nice little walk. Checked out and on my way to the GC. Weather was great -- cool but sunny and blue sky. Parked at one of the lodges at the rim. From here walked the rim enjoying
the views of the canyon.
Left the GC about 1pm traveling on hyw 64 to the I-40. Of course doing some geocaching
along the way. Stopped at the IMAX to see the movie , "GC Secrets". Returned to meteor crater RV park about 5pm. Fun day.

Aspen trees/so yellow 10/15

10/15 thursdays- trip to the Grand Canyon
Wanted to see the aspen trees up at Snowbowl (Flagstaff) and do a geocaching/hiking
adventure. The aspen trees were so yellow. Lots of people doing picture taking-views
were awesome. Parked in an area that has various trails, one called the Aspen loop and the others that lead you up to Humphreys peak. The hike through the aspen grove was cool but
the trail was cover in yellow leaves. Then came to a meadow and then started the climb up
the hill. Found the log were the cache was hidden. Again great views. On the way back
I encounter to young college kids out hiking but were lost. They had no gps. Nice
conversation and they were very thankful once we reach the area to see the parked cars.
This hike was 2 mi around trip. After coming down the mountain, I continue my
travel on I-180. A along the way I stopped to find 3 more geocaches. One was at a Chapel
that was so cool. Finally arrived at the Hotel about 5p in Tusayan (next to the IMAX theater) which is about 5 miles to the Grand Canyon entrance.

Trip to Yuma 10/8

Trip to Yuma 10/08-10 (thr,fri & sat)
.................................................................
The trip from MC RV park to Yuma takes about 6hr with some stops along
the way. Got to Yuma about 1pm. Great to see Andy and the house
looks nice. The apartment has been painted. That evening we met Andy's
old boss for some mexican food. Friday, did some laundry, trip to Wal-Mart and
geocaching. One was called the spicket. Its located in the desert with no water
around it but yet water does come out. Its attached to a 4 x 4 post which half of it
will turn to reveal the cache (hole in the post). Very clever.
Friday evening, Andy & I met Chuck/Bill for a nice dinner at Pizza Boys.
Left Yuma on saturday about 1pm returning to MC early evening.
